2026 Grade 4 Rationalized Skills in English Lesson Plans – Term 3

The topics covered are organized under four main themes:

• Theme: HYGIENE AND SANITATION
  • Grammar: Focuses on coordinating conjunctions (e.g., and, but, or, so) to connect ideas.
  • Writing: Covers creative writing, specifically descriptive compositions. Learners explore the structure (introduction, body, conclusion) and use of descriptive words.
• Theme: SPORTS: MY FAVORITE GAME
  • Listening & Speaking: Emphasizes pronunciation of specific sounds, listening fluency, and constructing sentences related to sports.
  • Reading: Involves intensive reading of digital poems and narratives, with a focus on comprehension and using mind maps to summarize information.
  • Grammar: Introduces interrogatives (Who, What, When, Where, Whose) for asking and responding to questions.
  • Writing: Addresses spelling of commonly misspelt words.
• Theme: CLEAN ENVIRONMENT
  • Listening & Speaking: Practices pronunciation of vowel sounds and consonant clusters, while also using non-verbal cues for expression.
  • Reading: Focuses on reading poems, songs, and passages containing proverbs with appropriate expression and rhythm.
