The Lesson Plans are organized under the strand and substrands;

  • Plants: Edible and Non-edible Plants – Identification, classification, safety rules, and an outdoor nature walk around the school compound
  • Plants: Making a Kitchen Garden – Sourcing reusable materials (sacks, old tires, plastic basins, pipes), preparing container gardens, transplanting vegetable seedlings (kales, spinach, tomatoes, onions, dhania), and daily watering duty rosters
  • Plants: Plants as a Source of Food – Exploring nutritional value and self-reliance
  • Animals: Importance of Domestic Animals – Identifying mammals and poultry, animal uses (milk, eggs, meat, security, transport, manure, biogas) and drawing/colouring exercises
  • Animals: Ways of Caring for Domestic Animals – Cleaning shelters (sheds, coops, kennels), grooming and de-ticking, providing balanced feeds in clean troughs, and supplying fresh drinking water
  • Animals: Activities for Caring for Domestic Animals – Role-playing daily care routines for large farm animals (cattle, goats, sheep)
  • Animals: The Value of Domestic Animals – Mutual human-animal dependence and animal protection
  • Waste Materials: Waste materials that can be used to generate income – Identifying recyclable paper, scrap metal, plastic bottles, and fabric offcuts
  • Waste Materials: Upcycling craft projects – Making flower vases, drinking tumblers/pen holders, eco-friendly rolled paper-bead jewelry, wall hangings from eggshells/bottle tops, throw pillows from tailor offcuts, and animal feeding troughs from cut jerrycans
  • Waste Materials: Safety precautions – Handling hazards, wearing PPE (gloves, aprons, masks, gumboots), and handwashing protocols
