2026 GRADE 1 OXFORD GROWING IN CHRIST CRE RECORDS OF WORK – TERM 1

This records of work provide comprehensive coverage of the Term 2 2026 Grade 1 CRE syllabus.

• Number of Weeks: Covers Weeks 1 to 12. Out of the standard 14 weeks, the missing weeks (Weeks 8, 13, and 14) are dedicated to the mid-term break, end-of-term 2 revisions, and exam administration.
• Number of Lessons/Periods per Week: 3

• THE EARLY LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST (Weeks 1-4)
  • Jesus in the temple
    • Identifying their place of worship (church) by name and the day of Sabbath
    • Brainstorming on the importance of attending church
    • Obeying parents in day-to-day life and emulating Jesus Christ’s example
  • Baptism of Jesus Christ
    • Identifying the importance of baptism and describing how it takes place
    • Naming the place where Jesus was baptized and the person who baptized Him
    • Showing respect to visitors at home and school
  • Wedding at Cana of Galilee
    • Identifying who were invited to the wedding and activities that take place
    • Narrating how Jesus changed water into wine and depending on God
    • Discussing how the servants obeyed Jesus’ instructions
  • Healing of Simon Peter’s mother-in-law
    • Narrating the healing of Simon Peter’s mother-in-law
    • Discussing how Peter’s mother-in-law showed gratitude to Jesus Christ
    • Defining mother-in-law and describing instances of Jesus’ healing
• CHRISTIAN VALUES (Weeks 5-12)
  • Sharing
    • Listing items shared at home and discussing how sharing promotes togetherness
    • Identifying toys and reasons people share at home
    • Defining sharing and discussing the events before and after the miracle of the two fish and five loaves
    • Caring for the Environment: Identifying where litter comes from, collecting litter, and making a litter box from recyclable items
  • Obedience
    • Demonstrating obedience by obeying parents and older siblings
    • Listing reasons why we should obey our parents and reciting a poem on obedience
    • Respecting our parents to promote peace and harmony
  • Honesty
    • Stating when we should tell the truth and discussing reasons for telling the truth every day
    • Discussing why stealing is wrong and reciting Ephesians 4:25
    • Going to school early and going home early after school to be a responsible citizen
  • Thankfulness
    • Thanking parents for what they do and discussing why they should be thanked
    • Dramatizing when and why they should obey parents and reciting 1 Thessalonians 5:18
    • Identifying needs and wants provided by parents
