2026 Grade 10 Arabic Records of Work -Term 2

It covers the following strands and sub-strands:

• Listening and Speaking
  • Speaking Fluency (Week 1): Express opinions and ideas fluently about tourist destinations, use correct stress and intonation in speech, respond fluently to oral instructions, use phrases to describe tourist attractions, and demonstrate confidence in oral communication.
  • Attentive Listening (Weeks 5 & 13): Identify specific details from audio presentations, listen to obtain information, extract information from spoken texts, analyse spoken messages, appreciate listening as a skill, respond to questions from audio, and discuss information from audio.
• Reading
  • Reading for Information (Week 2): Identify information from texts about tourism, infer meaning of vocabulary in context, respond to direct and inferential questions from texts, and appreciate the importance of reading for information.
  • Intensive Reading: Poetry (Weeks 6 & 12): Read poems fluently, analyse themes in poems, explain the meaning of poetic vocabulary, interpret poetic expressions, interpret poetic messages, develop reading fluency, interpret poems critically, and develop an appreciation for Arabic poetry.
• Writing
  • Paragraph Writing: Sequencing Ideas (Week 3): Express ideas logically in sentences, use connectors to organise ideas, construct logical paragraphs, develop coherent paragraphs, and appreciate the importance of organised writing.
  • Descriptive Writing (Weeks 7 & 11): Identify descriptive vocabulary, write descriptive sentences, compose short descriptive paragraphs, use descriptive words effectively, improve vocabulary usage, edit written work, develop clear written communication, and appreciate descriptive writing.
• Grammar
  • Word Classes: Demonstrative Pronouns and Interrogative Articles (Week 4): Identify and use demonstrative pronouns correctly in sentences, identify interrogative articles, construct sentences using interrogative articles, and appreciate correct grammatical usage.
  • Word Classes: Adverbs, Prepositions and Adjectives (Weeks 8 & 10): Identify and apply adverbs, prepositions, and adjectives, use adjectives to describe objects, construct sentences using adjectives, differentiate word classes, use grammar in descriptive texts, and appreciate correct grammar use.
