Grade 4 Rationalized KLB Visionary CRE Lesson Plans – Term 3

The content is organized into two main strands, focusing on Christian values and the Church:

• STRAND: CHRISTIAN VALUES
  • Sub-Strand: Truthfulness
    • Exploring the meaning and importance of telling the truth, guided by Proverbs 12:22.
  • Sub-Strand: Obedience & Results of disobedience
    • Studying the Fifth Commandment (Exodus 20:12) on honouring parents.
    • Discussing the positive outcomes of obedience and the negative consequences of disobedience, using Bible stories like that of Jonah.
  • Sub-Strand: Jesus loves little children
    • Learning from the story of Jesus blessing the children in Matthew 19:13-15.
    • Identifying practical ways to show God’s love to others.
  • Sub-Strand: Responsibility
    • Learning to take care of personal items (e.g., clothes, books) and shared school property (e.g., desks, chairs).
  • Sub-Strand: Holiness
    • Understanding the body as a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and how to glorify God.
    • Identifying and avoiding situations that lead to sin.
• STRAND: The Church
  • Sub-Strand: House of God
    • Drawing lessons from Jesus cleansing the Temple (Matthew 21:12-14) on respecting the church as a house of worship.
  • Sub-Strand: The Early Church
    • Identifying Jesus’ twelve disciples and learning how the early church was started.
  • Sub-Strand: Standing firm in faith
    • Learning that believers were first called Christians in Antioch (Acts 11:26).
    • Studying the story of Stephen as an example of bravery and faith.
  • Sub-Strand: The Lord’s Prayer
    • Reciting and understanding the prayer Jesus taught His disciples (Matthew 6:9-13).
  • Sub-Strand: Fruits of the Holy Spirit & Self-control
    • Identifying the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit from Galatians 5:22-23.
    • Discussing how to apply these qualities, with a special focus on self-control.
• STRAND: ALL
  • Activity: REVISION / END OF YEAR ASSESSMENT
    • Reviewing all Christian values and topics about the Church covered during the term.
    • Administering the formal end-of-year examination.
